XBee-Bluetooth USB To Serial Port Adapter Module is a compact USB to Serial port adapter, which is based on  ft232rl chip. The FT232R chip  is an interface between USB port to serial UART with optional clock generator output, and the new FTDIChip-ID™ security dongle feature. This chip is used in many adapters board such as this XBee adapter, USB to RS232 / RS422 / RS485 converters, USB Smart card readers​​​​​​​, set top box PC - USB interface​​​​​​​, and so on.
This module is equipped with a BEE (20pin 2.0mm) sockets, and can handle all XBee modules (the Series 1 and Series 2.5, standard and Pro version). For this purpose just plug it into the XBee Explorer, connect USB cable, and access directly to the serial and programming pins on the module. This module does not need any external power supply, because it can be supplied through the USB cable connection. Because of equipping with FT232RL IC, it can be used for programming or communicating with an Arduino board without USB interface, like Sniffer Nano. Also, it can connect many wireless BEE compatible devices with a PC. So it can be used for these 3 main situations:
Interfacing a PC with XBee adapters, directly through the mini USB to Serial cable
Configuration of Bluetooth Bee or using as a data-transmission
ARDUINO BOARD PRO MINI Downloader
This package does not contain the USB cable, XBee modules and USB cable are sold separately.
