With an internal frequency of 12.5 MHz, the module includes UART for serial data transfer and offers high-precision steps, up to 1/256 microstepping, adjustable in 9 different steps. The TMC2209 Stepper Driver is a cost-effective, reliable module that delivers similar performance to the A4988 but with reduced noise and smoother motor operation. Powered through the VIO and GND pins, the TMC2209 Driver connects to a microcontroller, with four output pins for the stepper motor's two-phase connections.
