The STM8S103F3P6 Development board is a compact minimum-system development board built around STMicroelectronics’ STM8S103F3P6 8-bit microcontroller. The STM8S103F3P6 is an access-line STM8 device with a 16MHz advanced STM8 core, Harvard architecture, and a 3-stage pipeline, offering 8KB of Flash program memory, 1KB of RAM, and 640 bytes of true data EEPROM. The board exposes 16 GPIO pins on standard 2.54mm headers, making it easy to mount on a breadboard or solder into a custom carrier. On-board peripherals include a 10-bit ADC, three timers, and UART, SPI, and I²C serial interfaces, covering the requirements of most small digital and mixed-signal projects.
A key practical feature is the integrated 3.3V linear regulator, which accepts a DC input of 4.5V to 15V through the VIN pin or a 5V supply from the Type-C connector. The Type-C port is power-only; its data lines are not connected, so programming is performed through the on-board SWIM (Single Wire Interface Module) header using an ST-Link V2 or compatible programmer. The board also includes a reset button, a power indicator LED, and a user LED connected to PB5 (shared with the I²C bus, so the LED must be disabled when I²C is in use). With its small footprint, low cost, and Arduino-compatible pin spacing, the STM8S103F3P6 board is widely used for digital circuits, educational projects, laboratory experiments, and space-constrained embedded designs. The board does not include a serial bootloader; all firmware must be loaded via SWIM.
