Description: 
Pressure sensors are used for control and monitoring in thousands of everyday applications. Pressure sensors can also be used to indirectly measure other variables such as fluid/gas flow, speed, water level and altitude. 
The SPL06-001 is a miniaturized Digital Barometric Air Pressure Sensor with high accuracy and low current consumption. 
The element of the pressure sensor is based on a capacitive sensing principle which guarantees high precision during temperature changes. The internal signal processor of this module converts the output of the pressure and temperature values to 24-bit results. 
The SPL06-001 has a FIFO that can store the latest 32 measurements. 
By using the FIFO, the host processor can remain in the sleep mode for a longer period of time between readouts. 
This can reduce the overall system power consumption. Sensor measurements and calibration coefficients are available through the serial I2C or SPI interface. Some pressure sensors are pressure switches, which turn on or off at a particular pressure. For example, a water pump can be controlled by a pressure switch so that it starts when water is released from the system, reducing the pressure in a reservoir. 
There are many applications for pressure sensors such as altitude sensing, flow sensing, level/depth sensing, leak testing, etc.
