Solar Tracking Sensor Module with LDR

The Solar-Tracking module is a compact LDR-based light sensor board designed for automatic solar tracking and light-seeking applications. It uses light-dependent resistors (LDRs) to compare light intensity from different angles and generates a motor control signal that keeps a panel or device aligned with the strongest light source. The module operates on a regulated 5–5.5V DC supply with current consumption below 1.5A and provides a motor output interface (M) alongside the power input (+ and −). Its small 35 × 16 × 1.2 mm board, 15 cm cable, and 3 mm light aperture make it easy to mount on small structures, outdoor lighting fixtures, and educational solar projects. A short anti-vibration delay prevents rapid motor oscillation, and the motor polarity can be swapped if rotation direction is reversed. This solar tracker module is a sensor and driver board only; it does not include a motor or controller, so it must be paired with a geared low-speed motor and an Arduino, ESP32, STM32, or similar controller for complete sun tracking. Typical uses include improving photovoltaic panel efficiency, optimizing outdoor solar lighting, and supporting research and educational projects in solar energy.
