FZ0534 Rotary Encoder Module

The FZ0534 is an incremental rotary encoder module designed to convert rotational motion into digital electrical pulses for microcontroller-based projects. Unlike a potentiometer, the encoder has no rotational limit and outputs Gray-coded quadrature signals, allowing the host system to determine both the direction and the amount of rotation. The module produces 20 pulses per revolution and operates on a 5V DC supply, making it directly compatible with Arduino and similar development boards. A built-in push button (Reset switch) lets the user reset the count to zero or serve as an additional user input. The 5-pin interface provides power, ground, two quadrature output channels, and the switch signal, while onboard pull-up resistors simplify wiring by keeping the CLK and DT lines stable when the encoder is not being turned. Typical applications include menu navigation on LCD displays, parameter adjustment in control systems, robotics, CNC machines, and 3D printers.
