Description:
PL2303HX USB To TTL Converter Cable is an economical, high-quality, and high performance, 4 pins, serial TTL to  USB male converter which is based on PL2303HX USB to serial bridge controller chip. The PL-2303HX (Chip Rev D) or PL-2303HXD chip can make easy connecting an RS-232 full-duplex asynchronous serial device to any USB host port. The PL2303HX chip has a USB mass transfer mode, large data buffers, and self flows control, which can achieve higher performance (the baud rate more than 115200) than typical UART ports. It has a very flexible baud rate from 75 bps and 12M.  It has a high compatible driver, which enables it to simulate the traditional COM port and communicate perfectly with most operating systems, especially Windows XP / VISTA / 7 / 8 / 8.1, Mac, and Linux. This cable plugs directly into your USB port on your computer and by the other heads, through 4 pins can be connected to Arduino project boards and other serial compatible devices to communicate with PCs. Through the 4 separated pin plugs, this cable can easily be connected to Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Blac and enables the debug/login console.
This cable is applicable for Terminal use; commonly used serial debugging/programming tool for Arduino and compatibles. But not for Arduino re-programming such as a Boarduino, MENTA, Monochron, etc., because of lacking the DTR/RTS wire which is necessary to initiate the bootloader reboot sequence.
