XH-M120 PAM8610 2x15W Stereo Class D Audio Amplifier Board with Volume Control

The XH-M120 is a compact stereo Class D audio amplifier board built around the PAM8610 chip from Diodes Incorporated. It is designed to deliver efficient, high-quality audio amplification for DIY speaker systems, portable audio devices, multimedia monitors, and embedded sound projects. The board operates in Class D (PWM modulation) mode, which provides significantly higher efficiency than traditional Class AB designs, reaching up to 90% and allowing it to run without a heatsink in typical applications.

The XH-M120 delivers 2×15W into 4Ω speakers and 2×10W into 8Ω speakers, with a recommended supply voltage of 12V DC (operating range 6–15V). The amplifier offers a low total harmonic distortion plus noise (THD+N) of 0.1%, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 90dB, and a frequency response of 20Hz to 15kHz, ensuring clean and detailed sound reproduction. A 32-step DC volume control is integrated on the board, adjustable from +32dB to -75dB, with an onboard potentiometer for convenient manual adjustment. The board includes short-circuit, over-current, and thermal protection (with thermal shutdown at 150°C), safeguarding both the amplifier and connected speakers.

The module measures 45mm × 48mm × 18mm (excluding the knob) and weighs approximately 24–25g, making it easy to integrate into compact enclosures. Its input impedance is 20MΩ, and the recommended speaker power range is 10–100W. Typical applications include flat-panel monitors and LCD TVs, multimedia speaker systems, DVD players, game machines, boom boxes, and portable Bluetooth speakers. The board’s low quiescent current of 20mA at 12V and high efficiency make it a practical choice for battery-powered or space-constrained audio projects.
