The Orange Pi One is an open-source single-board computer built around the Allwinner H3 quad-core Cortex-A7 processor running at 1.2GHz, paired with an ARM Mali-400MP2 GPU clocked at up to 600MHz. With 512MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with the GPU, it delivers a balance of computing performance and compact size that suits embedded development, lightweight desktop use, and Internet of Things projects. The board supports hardware video decoding for H.265/HEVC up to 4K, making it capable of HD and 4K media playback despite its small footprint of just 69mm × 48mm and a weight of 36 grams.
The Orange Pi One provides a practical set of connectivity options: a 10/100M Ethernet RJ45 port, one USB 2.0 host port, one USB 2.0 OTG port (data only, not for power), an HDMI output with HDCP and CEC support, and a CSI camera interface for attaching an 8-bit YUV422 CMOS sensor with video capture up to 1080p@30fps. A 40-pin GPIO header compatible with the Raspberry Pi B+ pinout allows the board to interface with a wide range of sensors, displays, and expansion modules, while a 3-pin UART header supports serial console debugging.
The board is powered through a DC input (5V/2A) via a 4.0mm/1.7mm barrel jack; the USB OTG port cannot be used as a power source. It supports Android, Ubuntu, and Debian operating systems, giving developers flexibility in choosing a software stack. Typical applications include lightweight desktop computers, small servers, IoT gateways, robotics controllers, HD media players, and embedded programming education.
