Protection Modules or Battery Management Systems are used to safeguard and control the charge and discharge of Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer Batteries. These modules are typically categorized based on their current capacity and the number of battery cells they support.

This particular Lithium Battery Protection Board functions as a charger for single-cell lithium cobalt oxide, lithium cobalt, lithium, or lithium polymer batteries, with a maximum charging capability of 40 A.
