JDY-31 Bluetooth Module with Serial Communication

The JDY 31 Bluetooth module is a classic serial wireless communication module designed for stable and transparent data transmission in various electronic projects. This module is developed based on the Bluetooth 3.0 SPP standard and provides the possibility of direct communication without additional processing through the UART interface. Using the JDY-31 Bluetooth module with low consumption and transparent UART communication allows educational and industrial projects to transmit their data quickly and with minimal complexity.

The JDY 31 module operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and uses GFSK modulation to increase signal stability and resistance to noise. Its output power is a maximum of 8 decibels and it can transmit data up to a distance of 30 meters. The built-in PCB antenna simplifies installation and use of the module and eliminates the need for an external antenna. This same feature has made the JDY-31 module suitable for projects with space limitations. The UART communication interface of this module is compatible with various microcontrollers such as Arduino, STM32, and AVR. Its operating voltage is between 1.8 and 3.6 volts, and the recommended voltage of 3.3 volts guarantees stable and safe performance. The module's current consumption in the unconnected state is about 4.7 milliamps and after establishing communication is about 7.3 milliamps. For this reason, the JDY-31 serial Bluetooth module is very suitable for low-power and portable projects.

This module supports AT commands, and users can change the device name, data transfer rate, and other communication settings. The JDY 31 operates in Slave mode and has the ability to connect to Windows and Linux computers, laptops, and Android phones. The maximum data transfer rate in SPP mode is about 16 kilobytes per second, which is completely sufficient for controlling devices and data monitoring.

The module's applications include serial data transmission in Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems, control of smart home equipment, automotive testing equipment, Bluetooth toys, shared power banks, and medical equipment. Its physical dimensions are 19.6x14.94x1.8 millimeters and its operating temperature range is from -40 to 80 degrees Celsius. These specifications make the JDY 31 also suitable for industrial projects and environments with variable temperatures.

Note: Difference between the JDY 31 and HC 05 Bluetooth modules:

Compared to the HC 05, the JDY 31 module has smaller dimensions, lower energy consumption, and simpler setup, and is considered a better and more economical option for projects that require transparent serial communication and low energy consumption."
