Description:
The VEML6035 module is a high-sensitivity 16-bit CMOS ambient light intensity sensor that transmits information through I2C. This sensor has an active cut-off feature which causes the load on the host to be removed. Average active energy consumption is around 300 microwatts.
The VEML6035 ambient light intensity sensor module includes a photodiode, amplifier, and analog/digital circuitry in a single chip. With a wafer optical filter, this module provides the best spectral sensitivity to match the responses of the human eye, which is one of the unique features of this module.
This sensor is equipped with a temperature compensating function to maintain output stability in temperature changes, and it should be noted that the refresh rate setting does not require an external RC low pass filter.
Application:
Ambient light sensor for mobile devices (e.g. smart
phones, touch phones, PDA, GPS) for backlight dimming
even under tinted glass
Ambient light sensor for industrial on- / off-lighting operation
Optical switch for consumer, computing, and industrial devices and displays
