ZK-4KX Adjustable Buck-Boost Module – 5–30V In, 0.5–30V Out, 4A, CC/CV, LCD

The ZK-4KX is an adjustable buck-boost DC-DC power module that maintains a stable regulated output whether the input voltage is above, below, or equal to the output voltage. It accepts a DC input of 5V to 30V and provides a continuously adjustable output from 0.5V to 30V, with a continuous output current of 3A and a short-term capability of 4A when enhanced cooling is applied. The maximum output power is 35W under natural convection and up to 50W with a heatsink and fan, making the module suitable for a wide range of laboratory, battery-charging, and embedded power applications.

The ZK-4KX buck boost module features a 1.44-inch LCD that simultaneously displays input voltage, output voltage, output current, output power, capacity (Ah), and operating time, with voltage resolution of 0.01V and current resolution of 0.001A. A rotary encoder and push-buttons allow precise adjustment of both the output voltage and the current limit. The ZK-4KX operates in constant-voltage (CV) and constant-current (CC) modes with automatic transition, which is essential for charging lithium, LiPo, and lead-acid batteries and for driving high-power LEDs with current limiting. The switching frequency is 180kHz, and conversion efficiency is approximately 88%.

A comprehensive protection suite includes input reverse-polarity protection, output reverse-current protection, input undervoltage protection (default 4.8V, adjustable), output overvoltage protection (default 31V, adjustable), output overcurrent protection (default 4.1A, adjustable), overpower protection (default 50W, adjustable), and overtemperature protection. The module also includes soft-start functionality, an aluminum heatsink on the power stage, and terminal blocks for secure wire connections. For battery-charging applications, an external reverse-current blocking diode may be required depending on the battery type and configuration. The ZK-4KX is a panel-mountable module measuring approximately 79 × 43 × 26 mm and is widely used as a portable bench power supply, a solar charger, an LED driver, and a voltage stabilizer in robotics and automation systems.
