The BF12 is a support-side ball screw bearing unit designed to hold the non-driven end of a 10mm-diameter ball screw while allowing free axial movement. As a floating support (also called a support-side or follower bearing), it carries radial loads and prevents the screw from sagging or vibrating, but deliberately does not constrain axial position. This complementary role is what distinguishes the BF12 from fixed-side units such as the BK12, which handles axial positioning and preload. Together, the BK12/BF12 pair provides a complete two-bearing arrangement for CNC routers, milling machines, automation equipment, and precision assembly systems.
The BF12 ball screw support unit uses a single-row deep-groove ball bearing with a 10mm bore. On the version listed here, the bearing is specified as a 6000ZZ shielded deep-groove type, although other suppliers may fit 6001 or 7001 bearings in the same housing. The housing measures 60mm in length, 43mm in height, and 20mm in thickness, with a shaft-center-to-base height of 25mm. The body is made of black plastic on this variant, which keeps the weight down compared with steel-bodied equivalents. The unit is commonly paired with SFU1605 and SFU1610 ball screws, and its sealed housing design helps exclude dust and retain lubricant. It is intended for horizontal or vertical ball screw axes where the drive motor is at the opposite (fixed) end.
