Description:
ICs of the ACS712 series are effective current sensors and are products of Allegro company. This current sensor can be used to measure AC and DC currents in industry, automobiles, communication systems and other electronic equipment. The ACS712ELCTR-20A current sensor with a current of 20 amps is supplied as an SMD IC.
This part includes a precise Hall effect circuit with low offset and a high purity copper current path. The current path is designed in such a way that it passes near the Hall effect chip. The passage of current through the copper conductor path produces a magnetic field, which is received by the integrated hall effect sensor and converted into a voltage proportional to the intensity of the field. The accuracy of this sensor is optimized due to the proximity of the magnetic signal to the Hall effect converter. With the passage of current and the creation of a magnetic field, a voltage proportional to the passing current is created by the Hall effect IC. The hall effect part of this sensor, which is made using BiCMOS technology, has a small offset and is stable with the ability to cut the signal or chopping. The thickness of the current path in this sensor is such that it can withstand up to 5 times the rated current of the sensor. The electrical resistance of the current path is only 1.2 milliohms, which will result in negligible power loss. The current path is also electrically isolated from the electronic part of the sensor. This sensor is produced and supplied in SOIC form with 8 bases.
