Description:

A voltmeter is an instrument used for measuring the electrical potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. Analog voltmeters move a pointer across a scale in proportion to the voltage of the circuit; digital voltmeters give a numerical display of voltage by use of an analog to the digital converter. The main difference between the AC voltmeter circuit and DC voltmeter circuit is the usage of a rectifier. The rectifier is used in order to transform the AC voltage into DC voltage.
There can be three types of AC voltmeters based on the type of measurement it provides. These are average reading, peak reading, and true RMS reading AC voltmeter.
The main principle of Ammeter is that it must have very low resistance and also inductive reactance. It has very low impedance because it must have a very low amount of voltage drop across it and must be connected in a series connection because the current is the same in the series circuit.
