Description:
CJMCU ADS1120 K type thermocouple module is an electrical device consisting of two dissimilar electrical conductors forming electrical junctions at differing temperatures.
There are many specialized kinds of thermocouples. They can combine different metals to measure various characteristics and temperature ranges, and produce specialized calibrations. The type K is the most common type of thermocouple. It’s inexpensive, accurate, reliable, and has a wide temperature range. The type K is commonly found in nuclear applications because of its relative radiation hardness.
A thermocouple produces a temperature-dependent voltage as a result of the thermoelectric effect, and this voltage can be interpreted to measure temperature.
The ADS1120 is a precision, 16-bit, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that offers many integrated features to reduce system cost and component count in applications measuring small sensor signals. The device features two differential or four single-ended inputs through a flexible input multiplexer (MUX), a low-noise, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, a low-side switch, and a precision temperature sensor.

Thermocouples are great for working at high temperatures. New manufacturing techniques have improved the measurement range of RTD probes, but more than 90% of RTDs are designed for temperatures below 400°C. In contrast, some thermocouples can be used at up to 2500°C.
