LM2662 Positive to Negative Voltage Converter Module

The LM2662 positive to negative voltage converter module is a compact switched-capacitor charge-pump board that inverts a positive DC input between 1.5V and 5.5V into a corresponding negative output from -1.5V to -5.5V, delivering up to 200mA of output current. Based on the Texas Instruments LM2662 CMOS charge-pump converter, the module uses two low-cost capacitors to generate a negative supply without the size, cost, and EMI issues associated with inductor-based converters. The oscillator frequency is selectable between 20kHz and 150kHz via the FC pin, and can be lowered further by adding an external capacitor to the OSC pin. Typical conversion efficiency reaches 86 percent at 200mA, with a typical output resistance of 3.5Ω and an operating current of only 300µA. Shutdown current is as low as 10µA. The module also supports positive voltage doubling and supply splitting when configured accordingly. Its compact 8-pin IC layout makes it suitable for battery-powered systems, op-amp power supplies, medical instruments, and portable electronics where a clean negative rail is required.
