The ZVS-Module is a compact low-voltage induction heating power supply board designed for localized heating, annealing, and small-scale melting of metals. It operates from a DC input of 5V to 12V and delivers an output power ranging from approximately 30W to 120W, with the maximum power achieved at the 12V input under suitable load conditions. The board utilizes Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) technology, which reduces switching losses and improves efficiency compared with hard-switched driver topologies, allowing the compact module to handle relatively high currents without excessive heat generation in the switching devices.
The module is supplied with a dedicated 10-turn heating coil wound from 2mm enameled wire, with an inner diameter of 7.5mm, an outer diameter of 22mm, and a total length of 80mm including the core and supports. The coil is designed to be soldered directly to the board, which minimizes connection resistance and avoids the risk of terminal melting during prolonged heating. The heated workpiece should have a diameter between one-third and one-half of the coil’s inner diameter, and it should not exceed two-thirds of that inner diameter for effective coupling. The board measures 55 × 47 × 38 mm and weighs 110g, making it suitable for benchtop prototyping and integration into small thermal processing setups. No-load current is approximately 1.5A, while the full-load current exceeds 6.5A depending on the diameter and material of the object being heated. The module is intended for use with magnetic materials such as steel; brass, copper, and aluminum are difficult to heat effectively with this low-voltage design.
