AMG8833 IR 8x8 Module
Description:
The AMG8833 sensor is the next generation of 8x8 thermal IR sensors from Panasonic, and offers higher performance than it's predecessor the AMG8831. The sensor only supports I2C, and has a configurable interrupt pin that can fire when any individual pixel goes above or below a threshold that you set.
The thermal camera captures and creates an image of an object by using infrared radiation emitted from the object in a process that is called thermal imaging. The created image represents the temperature of the object. The underlying technology of the thermal imaging cameras was first developed for the military.
This is a high precision infrared array sensor based on advanced MEMS technology. When this sensor connects to a microcontroller (or raspberry Pi), it returns an array of 64 individual infrared temperature values over I2C. It’s like thermal cameras, but compact and simple enough for easy integration. The structure of the sensor is perfectly compacted (SMD package). It is also adaptive to reflow mounting.
This device measures the temperature from 0°C to 80°C with an accuracy of + -2.5°C. It can detect a person from a distance of 7 meters. The maximum frame rate of 10 Hz, makes it ideal for creating your own human detector or mini thermal camera.
