DS1307Z Clock IC SOP8 Package

The ds1307 serial real-time clock (rtc) ic is a low-power binary-coded decimal (bcd) clock/calendar with an additional 56 bytes of nv sram. the address and data are transferred serially via a bi-directional i2c bus. the clock/calendar provides information on seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year. the end-of-month date is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days, including adjustments for leap years. the clock operates in either 24-hour or 12-hour format with an am/pm indicator. the ds1307z clock ic features an internal power sense circuit that detects power outages and automatically switches to a backup source. timing operations continue while the device is powered from the backup source.
