The OV2640 2-megapixel camera is a CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 1632×1232 pixels. Despite its small size and low operating voltage, it delivers all the capabilities of a single-chip UXGA camera and image processor. This module uses an SCCB interface (similar to I²C) for internal configuration and allows the reception of sampled 10-bit data in full-frame, sub-sampling, and windowing modes.

The maximum frame rate of the OV2640 camera at UXGA resolution (1632×1232) reaches 15 frames per second, giving users full control over image quality, data format, and transmission method.
