the adjustable and fixed voltage regulators of the ams1117 series are designed to provide an output current of up to 1a with a 1 volt difference between input and output. the dropout voltage is guaranteed to be a maximum of 1.3 volts and decreases at lower load currents. the chip adjusts the reference voltage to 1.5% and sets the current limit to minimize stress under overload conditions in the regulator circuit and power supply. the IC AMS1117 is compatible with other scsi terminal regulators and is offered in a low-profile sot-223 surface mount package, as well as an 8l soic package and in a plastic (to-252 (dpak form.
