Full-color OLEDs differ from other passive matrix OLED displays as they feature a freely writable pixel area. Full-color OLEDs are defined by their size in inches. For example, 128x64 pixels means 128 pixels horizontally and 64 pixels vertically. The full-color OLED product range includes a small number of standard types ranging from 0.95“(96 x 64 pixels) to 1.80“(160 x 128 pixels). OLED technology does not require a backlight, which results in a colorful, high contrast display and low power consumption.
These displays also have 10μsec response time, which produces faster and smoother graphics animations. These unique displays also include a module containing all necessary logic. The display portion of the OLED module measures 0.96" diagonal and contains 80 x 160 RGB pixels. Each pixel can be set with 16 bits of resolution for a large range of colors.
