Description:

The 74HC4051 is a high-speed CMOS module with the 74HC4051 family of Scotky TTL (LSTTL) compatible base 74HC4051 conforming to the JEDEC 7A standard. The 74HC4051 is an 8-channel analog multiplexer with three digital select inputs (S0, S1, and S2), eight independent I/Os (Yn), one common I/O (Z), and one active digital input (E).
When E is low, one of the 8 switches from S0 to S2 is selected (low resistance state). When E is high, all switches enter high impedance mode and directly bypass S0 to S2. VCC and GND are the power pins for the digital control terminals (S0 to S2, e). The VCC to GND range of the 74HC4051 is 2.0V to 10.0V.
The analog I/O of this module Y0 to Y7, Z oscillates between the upper limit of VCC and the lower limit of VEE, VCCSDAVEE and should not exceed 10.0V. As a multiplexer/digital multiplexer, the VEE is connected to GND (generally connected to ground).

Power pins:
Vin: This is the power base. Since the sensor chip uses 3-5 VDC. To power up the board, give it power equal to the logic level of your microcontroller - eg. For a 5V micro like Arduino, use 5V.
GND: common ground
I2C control side pins:
SCL: This is the I2C clock pin for the chip itself, connect to your microcontroller's I2C clock line.
SDA: This is the I2C data pin for the chip itself, connect to your microcontroller's I2C data line.
RST: This reset pin is for resetting the multiplexer chip. Pulled up by default, connect to ground to reset
A0 A1 A2: These are the address select pins for the multiplexer. By default, the multiplexer is at address 0x70 and these three pins are pulled low. Connect them to Vin to set the address to 0x71 – 0x77.
A0 is the least significant bit (if pulled high, increments the address by 1).
A1 is the second least significant bit (if pulled high, increments the address by 2).
A2 is the third least significant bit (if pulled high, increments the address by 4).

Multiple side I2C pins:
SDx and SCx: There are eight sets of SDx and SCx pins, from SD0/SC0 to SD7/SC7. These are the multiplex pins.
