The NTAG203 is a round adhesive NFC sticker tag designed for short-range wireless identification, data sharing, and access-control applications. Built around the NXP NTAG203 chip, the tag operates at 13.56MHz and complies with ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and the NFC Forum Type 2 specification, allowing it to be read and written by NFC-enabled smartphones and dedicated 13.56MHz readers. The tag is passive: it has no battery and draws its operating power from the reader’s radio-frequency field, so it can remain in place for years without maintenance.
The NTAG203 NFC sticker tag provides 144 bytes of user read/write memory, organized into 36 pages of 4 bytes each, and carries a factory-burned 7-byte unique identifier (UID) that cannot be altered. This combination is sufficient for storing URLs, text records, vCards, Wi-Fi credentials, and simple access tokens. The round label measures 25mm in diameter and is made from PVC with a 0.1mm adhesive layer, giving it a slim profile that can be attached to phones, tools, containers, badges, and product packaging. The surface is water- and dust-resistant, and the tag is rated for operation between -20°C and +55°C at up to 90% relative humidity.
Typical uses include access control, anti-counterfeiting and product authentication, asset tracing, inventory identification, and interactive information sharing. The tag is supplied as a pack of two round stickers. Because read range depends on the reader’s output power and the surrounding environment, the practical working distance with a smartphone is typically in the range of 15–20mm, while dedicated readers may achieve somewhat longer distances.
