Description:
This series employs the Schottky Barrier principle in a large area metal-to-silicon power diode.
It is state-of-the-art geometry features chrome barrier metal including epitaxial construction with oxide passivation and metal overlap contact. It Ideally suited for use as rectifiers in low-voltage, high-frequency inverters,
free-wheeling diodes, and polarity protection diodes.
The 1N5822 Schottky diode can handle 40V @ 3A and has a low forward voltage drop.
Schottky diodes are commonly used where you want to minimize the amount of voltage drop across the diode and/or need high speed switching with decent power handling of up to 3A. 
These are frequently used for reverse polarity protection, with motor driver ICs, low-voltage battery charging circuits, high-frequency inverters, and similar applications.
