The 10NK is a compact infrared photoelectric switch that integrates both an infrared transmitter and a receiver in a single module. It is designed to detect objects within a fixed distance of 10 centimeters, which is not adjustable. The sensor operates on a 5V DC power supply and consumes less than 25mA of current. Its output is an NPN normally-open (NO) configuration capable of sinking up to 100mA, allowing it to directly drive relays or other low-power loads.
With a response time of under 2 milliseconds and a pointing angle of ≤15°, the 10NK provides fast and reliable detection. It can detect both transparent and opaque objects, making it versatile for various automation tasks. The module is housed in a plastic casing measuring 18mm in length, 15.5mm in width, and 8mm in thickness. It operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +55°C and is resistant to interference from visible light, functioning well under sunlight up to 10,000 lux or incandescent light up to 3,000 lux. Common applications include robot obstacle avoidance, production line counting, and black-and-white line tracking in automated systems. Note that the connecting cable is not included with the sensor.
