There are several methods for controlling the speed of DC motors, but using pulse width modulation (PWM) is the easiest and most convenient method. PWM speed control allows for the operation of DC motors by varying the width of the voltage level from 0 to 100 percent, thus adjusting the motor speed. The speed control of the spindle motor and its driver is accomplished by applying current within a range of different currents.
