XD-203 Multifunction Arduino Shield – 4-Digit Display, Sensors, Buttons, Buzzer

The XD-203 is a multifunction Arduino shield designed to consolidate a wide range of commonly used input and output components onto a single plug-in board. It is compatible with Arduino UNO R3, Leonardo, and Mega 2560 mainboards, and it eliminates the need for extensive breadboard wiring when building educational projects, prototypes, or laboratory experiments. By stacking the shield directly onto the Arduino, users gain immediate access to a four-digit seven-segment LED display, four status LEDs, three independent push buttons, a reset button, a piezo buzzer, a precision potentiometer, and dedicated interfaces for temperature sensors and wireless modules.

The four-digit seven-segment display is driven by two 74HC595 serial shift registers, which reduce the number of Arduino I/O pins required for display control and introduce users to SPI-style serial communication. The board includes a 10KΩ multi-turn precision potentiometer connected to an analog input for testing analog-to-digital conversion, along with a DS18B20 1-Wire interface and an LM35 analog interface for temperature measurement experiments. A piezo buzzer supports sound and alarm experiments, and an infrared receiver interface enables remote-control decoding projects.

The shield also provides expansion headers for Bluetooth modules (HC-05/HC-06), APC220 wireless serial modules, voice recognition modules (such as LD3320), and sound modules, as well as a servo interface for MG945, MG995, SG90, and similar servos. The board operates from a 5V supply derived from the Arduino itself, measures approximately 70 × 50 × 20mm, and weighs around 23–27g. The XD-203 is intended for education, robotics, smart home projects, and rapid prototyping, but it is a passive expansion board—temperature sensors, Bluetooth modules, servos, and IR remotes are not included and must be purchased separately.
