GPD2846A TF Card MP3 Decoder Module with 2W Mono Amplifier and FM Radio Support

The GPD2846A is a compact TF-card MP3 decoder module that integrates an MP3 playback engine, an FM radio interface, and a 2W mono audio amplifier on a single board measuring approximately 34.23mm × 22.33mm (with some variants listed at 35mm × 22mm). The module is built around the GPD2846A decoder IC in a SOP16 footprint and an 8002-class amplifier IC, allowing it to drive a small speaker directly without an external amplifier stage. This integration makes it a practical building block for DIY portable speakers, voice-prompt devices, toys, and embedded audio systems where space and component count are critical.

The module reads MP3 files from a TF (MicroSD) card and begins playback automatically when power is applied. The card slot supports up to 16GB (tested), and the board requires a minimum of approximately 5–10 MP3 files on the card for reliable detection. Playback is controlled through three groups of touch-style buttons on the board: play/pause, previous/next, and volume up/down. A multifunction LED indicator shows power and playback status. The board also supports USB audio mode (as a USB audio device) and can interface with one of three optional FM radio chips — RDA5807, BK1080, or RTC6207E — for FM reception, though the FM chip itself must be supplied externally and the 32768Hz crystal oscillator for the FM section must be connected by the user.

The GPD2846A operates from a 3.7V lithium battery (600mA) or a 5V USB supply. The amplifier delivers 2W into a mono load (L/R mixed), with a maximum output of up to 3W at 5V according to the datasheet. The module does not support infrared remote control and does not operate as a USB flash-drive device (USB is for audio mode and power only). With its small footprint, onboard amplification, and straightforward power-and-speaker setup, the GPD2846A is a cost-effective solution for compact audio playback applications.
