This version of the Heart Rate Sensor Module uses a finger clip to obtain heartbeat information from the fingertip. The sensor works by emitting invisible infrared light through a high-intensity infrared emitter tube, which illuminates the fingertip. A corresponding infrared receiver tube is placed opposite the emitter. As the heartbeat changes, the blood volume in the fingertip's capillaries varies. The infrared light passes through the finger, and the receiver tube detects the signal to determine the heart rate based on the light transmitted through the finger. The rheostat R4 on the Heart Rate Module adjusts the comparison voltage of the comparator, controlling the DO output. When amplification is low, the analog output voltage at the AO terminal is lower, and the comparison voltage is higher. When the AO output voltage exceeds the comparison voltage, the DO pin generates a high signal. This process is essential for accurate measurement with the Heart Wave Module.
