74HC4053D Multiplexer IC

The IC 74HC4053D is an Analog Multiplexer from the High-Speed CMOS Logic family with a 2:1 SPDT structure of the SMD type. This IC has low impedance in the on state and very low leakage current in the off state. It features 3 channels of 2-to-1 multiplexer/demultiplexer, each with separate control. The operation of this IC is similar to a 3-contact relay. A multiplexer, or MUX for short, is a combinational logic circuit designed to switch one of the input lines to a common output line. The selection of the input signal is done using a control signal. Each multiplexer can be considered a fast multi-position rotary switch, which connects one of the inputs (channels) to the output at any moment.
